Description of the Logo

The Logo's main shape is that of an equilateral triangle, representing the three main clusters of the Center - each area depends on the other two, as each vertex depends on the others. The circle represents the Earth and the orbits, which can be traced by either satellites or electrons, symbolize space and Chemistry. The buckyball - a carbon-60 molecule - symbolizes Chemistry and its role in nanotechnology. The color red is that of the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus - home of the CNM. The color blue represents space, the sky and the mysteries of the universe, while gold is the color for high technology.
